Forty-seven students competed and showcased their projects using the power of Rosie at the third annual Rosie Supercomputer Super Challenge.

Milwaukee School of Engineering's very own "Team Carbonair" competed at the 2024 Shell Eco-Marathon Americas-one of the world's leading energy-efficiency engineering programs for students. The competition aims to push the boundaries of what is technically possible and provides a platform for teams to use their STEM skills to build their own ultra-energy-efficient cars and then take them out on the track in competition.

MSOE's Baja SAE team cruised through the SAE National Competition in Oshkosh, Wisconsin May 4-7, 2023. The team participated in the Cost Event, Acceleration Test, Sled Pull, Design Presentation, Maneuverability, Suspension and the four-hour Endurance Event, which was their best event with a 21st place finish out of 82 teams. The team completed the Endurance Event with 24 laps, making them the highest-ranking school in Wisconsin for that event.

Nearly 100 Milwaukee School of Engineering students were nominated for leadership awards this year. Congratulations to all who were nominated and this year's winners, who were announced at MSOE's Student Awards Celebration on May 8, 2023.

MSOE's NECA Student Chapter is preparing to compete in the Electrical Contracting Innovation Challenge (ECIC), sponsored by ELECTRI International.

Anna DeBruine, of Bloomington, IL, was chosen as the 2023 recipient of the Fred F. Loock Outstanding Student Award at Milwaukee School of Engineering. This award is presented annually to the MSOE senior student, who, in the opinion of the faculty, most notably combines an excellent academic record and has at the same time demonstrated leadership and professional bearing in extracurricular or community service activities. It is the most prestigious student testimonial that MSOE bestows. DeBruine will graduate May 27 with a Bachelor of Science degree in BioMolecular Engineering.

Four incoming students at Milwaukee School of Engineering have been awarded the Presidential Scholarship for four years of full tuition. It is MSOE's most prestigious scholarship.

Milwaukee School of Engineering's SAE Baja team attended the UW-Stout Backwoods Baja event in Eau Galle, Wisconsin on Oct. 22 where they competed against 14 other teams with a total of 31 cars. The event consisted of three competitions: the car carry, sprint race, and a four-hour endurance race.

Milwaukee School of Engineering's fifth cohort of University Innovation Fellows (UIF) recently completed training through Stanford University's Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (d.school) and has several strategies and initiatives planned to spread innovation and entrepreneurship across campus. Bansari Modi, civil engineering; James Siedschlag, mechanical engineering, Benjamin Paulson, computer science; and Asher Sprigler, computer engineering, comprise the newest cohort.

MSOE's SAE Supermileage team showcased their fuel-efficiency expertise at the SAE Supermileage Engineering Design Competition where they took fifth place with 623 miles per gallon.

The Adiabatic Flame, a team of students from MSOE's chapter of the American Society for Mechanical Engineering, won first place in the world at ASME's annual Student Design Competition.

The MSOE Concrete Canoe team took first place overall in the Western Great Lakes Regional Competition with their canoe Rejuvenation. The team also finished second for their project proposal and placed within the top three in several races.

A team of students from Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) took first place in the WEF Wastewater category at the Central States Water Environmental Association (CSWEA) Student Design Competition.

Milwaukee School of Engineering students were challenged by MSOE Regent and NVIDIA Senior VP of Software Engineering Dr. Dwight Diercks '90 to use Rosie, the university's very own supercomputer, to solve an interesting problem, answer a difficult question, go beyond their course work or improve an existing process using artificial intelligence (AI).
