MSOE Space Raiders shoot for the stars at NASA Lunabotics Competition
MSOE Space Raiders reached for the stars at the annual NASA Lunabotics Competition hosted by NASA's Artemis Program at Kennedy Space Center. The nationwide competition invites top university teams to design, build and operate autonomous lunar mining rovers that simulate real-world excavation tasks critical to establishing a sustained human presence on the moon.

MSOE Raider Robotics sets world record
MSOE's Raider Robotics team turned heads and set a world record at the 2025 VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas in May. This annual competition is the premier global event for student robotics teams, organized by the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation (REC Foundation). Thousands of students from more than 60 countries showcase their skills in engineering, programming and teamwork. MSOE competed in the VEXU Robotics Competition, which is targeted at college and university students. This year's competition was known as "High Stakes." There were 109 VEXU teams in attendance, split between two divisions (Technology and Math). MSOE was one of 55 teams in the Technology Division.

Nearly 100 Milwaukee School of Engineering students were nominated for leadership awards this year. Congratulations to all who were nominated and this year's winners, who were announced at MSOE's Student Awards Celebration on May 6, 2025.

MSOE senior design team takes first at AIAA Region III Student Conference
A team of MSOE senior seniors presented papers at the 2025 American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Region III Student Conference at the University of Cincinnati-and took home first place for their work.

Ben Paulson named MSOE Fred F. Loock Outstanding Student
Ben Paulson was chosen as Milwaukee School of Engineering's 2025 recipient of the Fred F. Loock Outstanding Student Award. This award is presented annually to the MSOE senior student, who, in the opinion of the faculty, most notably combines an excellent academic record and has at the same time demonstrated leadership and professional bearing in extracurricular or community service activities. It is the most prestigious student testimonial that MSOE bestows. Paulson will graduate on May 17, 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from MSOE.

2025 Rosie Supercomputer Super Challenge Winners
Congratulations to the winners of the 2025 Rosie Supercomputer Super Challenge! For the annual challenge at Milwaukee School of Engineering, students demonstrate how they've used Rosie the supercomputer to solve a problem, improve a process or answer a difficult question during the Rosie Supercomputer Super Challenge. A total of 15 entries were received this year, and the winners were chosen after the five finalists presented their projects in front of a team of judges.

Helping the community one grilled cheese at a time
FeelGood is on a mission to end global hunger-one grilled cheese at a time. FeelGood is the youth engagement program of The Hunger Project, a global, non-profit, strategic organization committed to the sustainable end of world hunger. College campuses across the globe, including Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE), have their own FeelGood chapter dedicated to raising money to end global hunger. "In the MSOE chapter, we take on a bit more than what other chapters do by keeping the Milwaukee community in mind," said Ava Montoya, a civil engineering student from Las Vegas and FeelGood president. Montoya encourages the MSOE FeelGood chapter to "think globally, act locally. This way, FeelGood at MSOE can reach as many people as possible, providing an impact on our community."

Super challenge, super winners
Forty-seven students competed and showcased their projects using the power of Rosie at the third annual Rosie Supercomputer Super Challenge.

MSOE team enters Shell Eco-Marathon Americas competition
Milwaukee School of Engineering's very own "Team Carbonair" competed at the 2024 Shell Eco-Marathon Americas-one of the world's leading energy-efficiency engineering programs for students. The competition aims to push the boundaries of what is technically possible and provides a platform for teams to use their STEM skills to build their own ultra-energy-efficient cars and then take them out on the track in competition.

MSOE Formula Hybrid Team is World Champion
MSOE's formula hybrid team, Mozee Motorsports, took first place in the hybrid vehicle category at the 2024 Formula Hybrid + Electric competition at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. This marks the third world championship for the team with their previous wins coming in 2017 and 2022.

MSOE's Baja SAE team cruises through national competition
MSOE's Baja SAE team cruised through the SAE National Competition in Oshkosh, Wisconsin May 4-7, 2023. The team participated in the Cost Event, Acceleration Test, Sled Pull, Design Presentation, Maneuverability, Suspension and the four-hour Endurance Event, which was their best event with a 21st place finish out of 82 teams. The team completed the Endurance Event with 24 laps, making them the highest-ranking school in Wisconsin for that event.

Anna DeBruine receives MSOE's most prestigious student award
Anna DeBruine, of Bloomington, IL, was chosen as the 2023 recipient of the Fred F. Loock Outstanding Student Award at Milwaukee School of Engineering. This award is presented annually to the MSOE senior student, who, in the opinion of the faculty, most notably combines an excellent academic record and has at the same time demonstrated leadership and professional bearing in extracurricular or community service activities. It is the most prestigious student testimonial that MSOE bestows. DeBruine will graduate May 27 with a Bachelor of Science degree in BioMolecular Engineering.
